Behind the Scenes at Knot & Ko

 

Hello my name is Ellannie and I am the proud owner and head florist at KNOT & KO.

 

I first began my career in Canberra working in our family business, ACT Flowers where I was formally trained as a florist and was eventually given the responsibility of managing our retail florist shop. The business also had a thriving wedding and event trade and this is where I honed my skills in event floral. This included numerous functions at Parliament House. I felt very privileged to work on these events at Parliament House, as I had access to one of the most beautiful and extensive gardens in Australia to make my floral selections from.

 

I later married and moved to Adelaide where I established and operated 3 florists shops employing up to 16 staff.

My husband also had a growing business at the time, which led me to a career change where I joined him for a number of years in the wine industry. However, I had always maintained my passion for floral art and throughout those years I took on weddings and others jobs whenever I could. I like to call these days, " The Days of Wine & Roses"

 

It wasn't until my daughters wedding that I realized being a full time floral artist  was my true passion.

I am very excited to be working with my brides creating gorgeous bouquets and making their day the best day ever.

 

I am the preferred florist to the The Stamford Grand Hotel and The Stamford Plaza Adelaide. I have been part of the inaugural launch of The Best Day Ever Wedding Festival by Brides of Adelaide and the inaugural launch of One Fine Day Wedding Fair held in Adelaide in 2015.

I love working from my home studio as I know this gives me the flexibility to work one on one with each of my clients to help make their wedding or event the best it can be.
